This week saw GCap Media, the company behind Capital Radio, XFM and Classic FM, acquiring a majority stake in local listings website welovelocal.

GCap acquired its stake for a fee of £450,000, with a further £150,000 to be paid if the business meets performance targets.

Local.com has just launched a UK version of its site, providing searchable local listings for a range of products and services.

Welovelocal is a recently-launched local listings directory that serves the London area at the moment, but plans to expand the service to the rest of the UK.
