Skinkers, the online alert technology provider, has bagged $16m (£8m) in a second round of funding led by Acacia Capital Partners.
The company provides news alert services for the London Stock Exchange, CNN, the BBC and others, and recently announced the launch of LiveStation, a P2P live broadcast application.
P2P streaming TV site Joost is now available to the general public, though still in beta, as the company says it still has one or two technical problems to iron out.
Internet TV service Joost has announced a deal with Paramount Pictures that will see the studio's movie output being shown via the P2P site.
The deal initially covers the UK, France, Spain and Germany, but Joost said more countries would be added in future. As with the rest of its content, the movies will be free but supported by advertising.
P2P internet TV service Joost has been used by more than a million beta testers so far, co-founder Niklas Zennstrom told reporters at a press event in Estonia.
Clearly, the buzz around the online TV platform has helped push the user numbers up to such impressive levels. Zennstrom also said that Joost plans a full launch by the end of the year.
Babelgum, the P2P streaming TV service, has announced the launch of its public beta.
P2P internet TV service Joost has received $45m (£22.6m) in funding to aid its expansion and product development.
Index Ventures led the funding round with Sequoia Capital, while other investors included Hutchison Whampoa Limited and Cheung Kong Holdings, through the Li Ka-Shing Foundation.
Joost, the P2P internet TV service launched by Skype founders Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis, has concluded a series of deals with major advertisers.
ClickZ reports that Joost has signed three-month contracts for pre-roll and overlay ads with firms including Coca-Cola, General Motors, Nike and Visa.
Babelgum is a new internet TV service, using P2P technology to stream video to your PC at near -TV resolution, very much like Joost.
Like Joost, Babelgum has plenty of financial backing. While Joost's founders Niklas Zennström and Janus Friis raised around £1.3bn from the sale of Skype, Babelgum founder Silvio Scaglia has just sold a quarter of his stake in Italian broadband firm Fastweb for £148m.
Joost, the P2P internet TV service, is said to be close to securing a content deal with Viacom, the parent company of MTV and Comedy Central.
Two weeks ago, Viacom demanded the removal of 100,000 of its clips from YouTube, after failing to reach an agreement with the video sharing site over use of its content.
