UK retailer Game has unveiled a revamped website that provides customers with recommendations based on previous site usage, as well as customer reviews.
The market for in-game advertising on games consoles is expected to reach $80m (£40m) this year but increase to more than ten times that by 2011, according to a new report.
The study, by ABI Research, forecasts that $852m will be spent on dynamically served ads within video games by 2011, as publishers and their console partners look to reach gamers that have connected their devices to the web.
Google has expanded its empire into the in-game ad market, with the acquisition of Adscape for $23m (£11.8m).
Adscape's technology allows advertisers to place ads within games, as well as giving marketers the ability to measure ad performance.
Nintendo's Wii and DS Lite games consoles helped boost British retailer Game 's Christmas sales by 15.6% and the group now expects to reap higher annual overall sales as a result.
Demand for the innovative devices rocketed sales in the six weeks to January 6, with the Brain Training DS title amongst the most popular games.
