TravelFUSION, which recently launched providing European travellers with a tool called the Comparative Travel Shopper (CTS), is gearing up to provide a WAP service.
Moshe Rafiah, TravelFUSION CEO, said: “We are developing a WAP version inhouse - I feel that this type of personalisable technology will prove to the kind of killer application that WAP needs.” The company said that the WAP site would probably be going live in the coming months, although deals are currently in place with two UK mobile operators. TravelFUSION is looking to licence the technology to mobile portals, and said it is in talks with “household names” for this. CTS allows the user to optimise a journey route according to the traveller's geographic location and the most suitable stations/airports/ferry ports and travel operators, according to the company. Apparently users can personalise their choices as to cost and method of travel using the company's proprietary technology, accessible via its travelfusion.com site.
