WPP Group has acquired Blast Radius, an interactive agency based in Canada, for an undisclosed sum.
Blast Radius, which employs 400 staff with offices in San Francisco, New York, Toronto, Amsterdam and London, has experience in building ad campaigns for social networks. It will be aligned with WPP's Wunderman network.
The agency's previous clients include Nike and Starbucks and, according to WPP, the company's revenue last year was $43m (£21m).
WPP said:
"This acquisition continues WPPs strategy of developing its networks in fast growing markets and sectors and strengthening its capabilities in digital media."
This is just the latest of a string of digital investments by WPP - last month the group acquired LA-based interactive agency Schematic in a deal believed to be worth around $100m (£49m).
It also recently bought 24/7 Real Media and increased its investment in online PR firm Visible Technologies.
