User experience - latest roundtable briefing

E-consultancy has just published a User Experience Roundtable Briefing based on a lively discussion which took place in London last month.

This mini-report is the latest in our series of roundtable briefings which are free to registered users, containing useful overviews of the relevant markets as well as statistics and resources.

To whet your appetite, these were some of the questions which were discussed at the user experience roundtable ...

-) Where do usability and user experience fit into the bigger picture? What other techniques and methods are there for helping organisations to improve the customer experience?

-) Is it better to improve a website incrementally or should there be a start-from-scratch approach?

-) What can organisations learn from Facebook about delivering an engaging user experience?

-) Why aren't people talking about accessibility as much as they were?

Download the User Experience Briefing here to read what was said.

Coming soon ... an interview with Jesse James Garrett, president of Adaptive Path .

1. Hi Linus,

I was surprised that the significant benefits in conversions and user experience that user testing can bring to projects wasn't really touched on during this roundtable from what I could ascertain - was user testing an area covered?

2. Hi Paul,
It goes without saying that user testing is very important for ensuring the best possible user experience and customer experience. Usability companies were well represented at the roundtable. The initial discussion was focused around other parts of the overall jigsaw (in addition to usability testing) which can contribute to the full picture, for example customer feedback surveys and benchmarking. Sorry if this wasn't clear.
