Google has bought out yet another company; this time the online giant is buying Postini, which provides on-demand communications security and compliance solutions.
Google is paying $625m (£310m) for Postini, which has 35,000 businesses and 10m users worldwide.
Google said the deal would allow it to offer businesses more hosted services like Google Apps, which includes Gmail, Calendar, Talk, Docs & Spreadsheets and Personal Start Page.
On Postini's site, Google explained the move:
"We realized we needed a more complete solution that addresses the information security and compliance issues facing larger businesses. We agreed to acquire Postini in order to create a more complete Google Apps solution that addresses the information security and compliance issues facing businesses of all sizes."
