Intel strikes AdWords branding deal

Google has entered a partnership with the world's biggest microchip supplier that will give computer makers and resellers of Intel machines access to a special search advertising platform.

CNET News.com reports the companies are embarking on a "co-marketing initiative" that will give PC industry clients a one-stop-shop ad buying dashboard.

The "virtual marketing storefront" will give the retailers and manufacturers a suite of web tools allowing them to create and manage AdWords campaigns using pre-defined templates.

But the offering is not limited to online, keyword-based ads - it will also allow the companies to place printed ads, order merchandise and customise materials with their own logo, the report said.

The move appears to be a way for PC makers to more easily market their wares, and for Intel to retain a sense of ownership across the platform's diverse marketplace that fits entirely with its 'Intel Inside' slogan.
