| Description | The annual e-readiness rankings from the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) shows that Asian and African countries are narrowing the digital divide between nations.
The Economist Intelligence Unit evaluates the technological, economic, political and social assets of 69 countries to assess the readiness of a country's ICT infrastructure. Highlights from the report: Denmark has the world's highest rate of internet penetration, mobile phone penetration together with the highest IT spending level per capita. The world’s overall e-readiness is improving, with the global average score rising to 6.24 this year, compared with 6.02 last year. The digital divide continues to narrow - the gap between the highest and lowest scoring countries dropped from 6.08 points to 5.80 points this year. |
