Description A measure of information complexity, usually image quality. The higher the bit depth the better the quality; 8-bit colour is usually sufficient for business applications, while 24-bit colour (photographic quality) is the minimum for high-end graphics editing. Can also refer to audio quality (16-bit audio is CD-Quality, 24-bit is used in professional studios)
