Description Graphics that can be rendered by a raster (or using a similar process to a raster) are called raster graphics. raster graphics are encoded pixel by pixel, with a different colour value stored at each pixel. This is as opposed to vector graphics, which define areas and shapes to be filled in on screen with a particular colour or pattern. raster graphics are the most common form of graphical image and can produce photographic quality images.
