| Description | The primary method of input into a computer. The user can enter words, numbers, commands and phrases into the computer by pressing a series of buttons called keys, each labelled with a different letter or symbol. The keys are laid out on a plastic board, hence the name keyboard. More complicated symbols can be typed by holding down combinations of keys at once. Looks a lot like a typewriter but is much quieter and doesn't use paper. |
