ADO

Description ActiveX data Objects, another Microsoft technology. ADO is a collection of ActiveXX controls that allow high level access to a variety of data sources (most notably relational databases). A program written for ADO can be used with any compatible data store, instead of having to be rewritten to work with each type of database.
