Glossary Term "page-in"

page-in

Description To swap in a section of virtual memory. When the data to be stored in memory exceeds the amount of available memory, portions of the data are "paged-in" from the hard disk. In hackerspeak, it also means to retain one's focus after spacing out or "paging out".
