Glossary Term "value chain"

value chain

Description A chain of companies developing products or services that build on products developed by other companies in the chain. Windows software is an example of this chain - for instance, in order to use the Flash web-browser plugin, you need the Netscape browser, and to run Netscape you need the Windows OS. These products add value to Windows, making it a more compelling purchase.
