There are always interesting developments happening at our properties and at Polesden Lacey, a Regency country house with renowned Edwardian interiors and gardens, there is no exception. To make sure everyone knows about them, you’ll add new content to our website and other platforms such as mobile. You’ll be responsible for uploading news about a particular geographical area and for advising the Property Managers involved. Thanks to similar experience; solving issues – and spotting possible improvements – will be second nature. This post is fixed-term for one year.

Candidate Requirements

 

Knowledge:

·        Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline

·        A good understanding of the internet and what makes good copy

·        An excellent, demonstrable knowledge of editorial style and publishing processes in an online environment

·        Evidence of training in editing/proof-reading

·        Some familiarity with content management systems

·        Good, demonstrable, knowledge of internet usability best practice

·        Good, demonstrable, knowledge of website accessibility best practice

·        Knowledge of copyright laws and other appropriate legislation

·        Some knowledge of web-related software e.g. Dreamweaver, Photoshop

·        Some understanding of web tools and applications, blogs, online communities and social networks

 

Skills:

·        Proof reading and editing content from other sources

·        Writing for the web to suit different audiences

·        Training skills

·        Excellent communication skills

·        Excellent attention to detail

·        Excellent organisational skills

·        Ability to prioritise tasks and manage own time

·        Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure

·        Innovative and able to find creative solutions

 

Experience:

·        At least 2 years experience of working in a content-focused role on a busy and multifaceted website

·        At least 2 years experience of writing, editing and proof-reading engaging and creative website copy

·        Some experience of working with people across different parts of an organisation

·        Some experience of using content management systems

·        Some experience of video and photography
