Job Description

The purpose of the role is to provide support to the Online Acquisition team to help ensure that the business fully exploits the marketing opportunity that the online media channels offer, and to ensure that new member volumes are maximised profitably. The jobholder will provide support through analysis, reporting, the maintenance of marketing planning schedules and providing assistance with adhoc campaigns and online marketing projects.

Role Definition

Campaign Management – 50%

§         Assists in the set up, design and test new offers online, including email creative, banners, buttons and web copy

§         Supports the Online Acquisition Manager in management of PPC and SEO campaigns

§         Manages fulfilment of monthly prize draw ensuring the prize winners are notified and books sent out

§         Monitors stock levels daily and flag any issues to Online Acquisition Manager in order to minimise out of stocks, substitutes and to ensure that there are no delays to the despatch of the new member parcel

§         Manages changes to printed NM marketing material, i.e new member welcome letter, Editor’s Choice and VIP leaflet

§         Provides support to the Online Acquisition team on adhoc tasks and projects

§         Inputs into marketing development and campaign projects

Analysis and Reporting – 50%

§         Produces regular reports which provide details of performance of various online channels - including search, affiliates and email - against targets and budget

§         Ensures that invoices are tracked, coded, approved and paid on time in order to maintain positive relationships with providers

§         Works with internal departments to ensure that reporting is accurate and to increase efficiencies in reporting

§         Ensures that regular reports are sent to external parties as appropriate

§         Maintains the online marketing schedule

Candidate Requirements

Business & Financial Impact (effect on bottom line results/impact of underperformance/ budget managed/other comparable measures).

Focus on short-term objectives, with main impact on bottom line coming from accurate reporting and processing of invoices.

Knowledge/Specialist Skills (specific knowledge, understanding & skills required, experience & qualifications).

Educated to at least Degree level, preferably within a business or marketing discipline. Experience gained within a direct marketing organisation or previous online marketing experience desirable but not essential. Strong analytical knowledge and attention to detail a must. Knowledge of MS Office suite also essential. HTML skills desirable.

Complexity & Decision Making (degree of problem solving, data gathering & analysis required to make decisions & level of autonomy to do so).

Will need to be able to be able to manage time efficiently and work with minimal supervision on day-to-day tasks.

Nature of Relationships (level of interaction & relationship development required facing internally & externally).

High levels of interaction required with other departments within BCA

Resource Management (responsibility for employees and/or systems).

No management responsibility.
