Job Description
My client is the market leader in the consumer retail space, with a fantastic brand and a Web presence that consolidates their position in this fast growing market. 

Reporting to the Head of Online Marketing, The Search Engine Marketing Manager will be instrumental in driving growth by implementing new SEM campaigns through Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).  To support this they will need to create a joint PPC and SEO strategy to target a wider range of customer search behaviours.  They will need to operate at both a strategic and implementation level - taking responsiblity for devising joint PPC and SEO strategies for the next year yet at the same time being able to understand how specific keyphrases impact search engine behaviour. 

Their second area of responsibility will be to bring all PPC activity in-house and improve cost effectiveness of activity.  The SEM manager will define the processes, resource and technology necessary to support this activity and once this is bought in house will work with the Head of Online marketing to define areas of improvement and new areas of customer search. 

You will be responsible for supervising 1 full time employee, although this will increase when PPC is tranferred inhouse.....(more detailed job spec upon request)   
Candidate Requirements
This is a pivotal role in changing team.  A such the ideal candidate will need to display the following qualities:
  • Questioning mind with sharp business acument.
  • Strong commercial and business awareness
  • Experienced in both PPC and SEO at a strategic and tactical level
  • Must be enthusiastic about training staff, leading and working within a team
  • Clear and confident communicator with the ability to motivate and inspire
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • High degree of initiative and a team player
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team
  • Degree level preferred but suitable experience considered
