| Background: | Glenn is co-founder and Chief Executive of Ecademy, the network for business in the new economy, using his 16 years of IT & Internet experience and expertise to deliver partnership and membership services to over 40,000 Ecademists (members).
Glenn has a wealth of Blue Chip and SME experience within IT and e-business including team management, program management, design & programming, business analysis and product development. His key strength is recognising commercial opportunities, communicating complex technical ideas to people at all levels and delivering the vision. Glenn has contributed to The Ecademy’s 'The 12 Principles of E-business' and 'Networking for Life' books and firmly believes the future of business is "winning by sharing" - networking and knowledge sharing between individuals to increase personal performance to benefit the business. I am totally committed to Ecademy's cause "to build the world's premier Trusted Network, connecting business people to share knowledge, contacts and transactions”. I often describe Ecademy as "the ebay for people"….we empower people to enhance their businesses by providing tools and events which can be integrated into their daily business (and social) life. After six years of building the business it’s encouraging to see that social networking is the “next big thing” – it’s not new but for the first time it’s getting a foothold using tools the internet can provide. Ecademy works on the principle of ‘your face is your brand, your reputation is everything’ - using our ethos of Winning by Sharing combined with ‘degrees of separation’ (the theory that you are only six links away from anyone else on the planet) you can truly have physical and emotional wealth in your life. Ecademy has particular values we stand by, these are: 1) Winning by Sharing 2) Openness 3) Honesty 4) Transparency 5) Friendship & Kinship 6) Global Family - The Fellowship of Ecademy 7) Helping one another by giving not taking and never asking for something in return - in other words always contributing to the network and other people 8) Not worrying or caring "what's in it for us" 9) Connectedness and being connected - the old chinese belief known as GuanXi 10) Connecting People to what they seek, finding them that match, that job, that customer, that supplier, that direction, that life "Joy at the work place has nothing to do with function, and everything to do with purpose."
