| Background: | Nick is the founder of On Instant and has been involved in the IT industry since 1985 when he launched Company Line Limited, a transaction based B2B information system. In 1987, Company Line, together with DataStar Limited, developed the ability to broadcast real-time transactions using on-line systems for data delivery before the emergence of the commercial Internet.
In 1993, he founded Multi Media Investments Limited, a technology research and development company which launched the Internet in the Channel Islands through Interactive Telephony Ltd (ITL). This led to the construction of one of Europe 's first on-line stores in October 1994 and the development of the BarclaySquareT project with Barclays Bank plc in 1995. Nick founded the multi-currency processor WorldPay and led the company through its growth from one employee to 270, from one customer to over 20,000 . From customers in one country, to customers in 120 countries, and from zero revenues in late 1999 to over £1bn in 2003. Nick was a finalist in the Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2000 and 2001 and is a member of the Institute of Patentees and Inventors. |
