Background:	Dr Michael Lynch founded Autonomy in 1996. He had previously founded and run Neurodynamics, where much of the company's proprietary technology was developed. He studied Electrical and Information Sciences at Cambridge University in England. Here he received a Ph.D. in adaptive techniques in signal processing and connectionist models, and a research fellowship in adaptive pattern recognition. He holds the Institute of Electrical Engineers' medal for outstanding achievement.
