| Background: | Andy was a founding director of leading British new media company Online Magic which merged with AGENCY.COM in 1997. He opened Online Magic’s New York office in 1994 establishing the first international Internet production and services operation. Before joining Online Magic, Andy was the US Publishing Director of PowerPC News on-line magazine for ComputerWire, Inc. He previously launched their technology titles: Computer Business Review, Software Futures and Network Week. Traditional media experience was accumulated as Sales & Marketing Director for a leading London arts & entertainment press agency, and working in the music publishing, recording and video production industries.
Andy has spoken at numerous industry events including Internet World and the Global Marketing Forum, has helped to judge many award ceremonies such as Revolution and One Show Interactive, and is a member of GartnerG2's first advisory board on online advertising. He was a weekly columnist about the new economy for the Financial Times and last year contributed a chapter for the book Ultimate Telecoms Futures along with leading industry commentators such as Patricia Seybold, Don Tapscott, Vinton Cerf and Peppers and Rodgers. Andy has been named one of the Top 50 Internet Professionals in the UK by Internet Business Magazine and UK ‘New Media Entrepreneur of the Year’ by Campaign Magazine. He also featured in the Virgin business guide to innovative entrepreneurs, 20/20 Hindsight. His last published report was: “10 Years On: The State of the Internet a decade after Mosaic”. Andy was born and raised in London and educated in London and Montreal. He lives in Highgate with his wife and two children and has yet to receive any royalties from obscure pop songs released by a minor independent record label in Europe. |
