Job Description

Description

The Technical Architect role combines traditional enterprise application integration architecture with current website architecture models such as web services and content management to deliver service oriented architectures for Fortune Cookie’s local government and corporate clients. It also involves pre-sales support for prospective clients where you will be working with the sales team to scope and present technical project proposals.

You must be able to work with a heterogeneous team including business analysts, project managers, data analysts, developers and designers and must be confident in dealing with client representatives at all levels of an organisation. In certain cases you will lead on-site client teams.

You must be able to architect intuitive, accessible, high-performance web based systems that integrate with line-of-business systems that will vary from modern J2EE or .Net based systems through to “dumb terminals” and mainframes. You will need to be comfortable working with diverse tools, ranging from BizTalk Server 2004 and VisualStudio.NET through to JBoss and Eclipse.

While you should be able to design systems using both .Net and J2EE this role has an emphasis on J2EE and the ideal candidate’s experience will include a predominance of J2EE development for the enterprise.

You must have excellent communication skills including written English, verbal presentation and visual representation.

This role also involves taking an active part in the development and review of internal business processes and new initiatives.
