Job Description
The Editor, working closely with the founders, publisher and the editorial board will be responsible for writing, editing, commissioning, licensing and developing the IR portal as well as the print magazine. 

While not primarily responsible for revenue-generation, the Editor shall exhibit commercial flair and support the founders in maximising the profitability of the titles.

The Editor will need to be intimate with and authoritative upon at least one of the key domains for internet retail: e-marketing, technology and operations/logistics.

The Editor will have a high level of engagement with retailers - both in conducting interviews and industry events - and will be expected to help develop the portal along more interactive lines.

Note that the role covers both the online portal and the print magazine (bimonthly at launch, but moving to monthly within the first year).
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have the following skills, experience and attributes:
  • Entrepreneurial, enterprising, committed, ambitious. This is an opportunity to headline an important title in an exciting growth sector
  • Passion for, and knowledge of, ecommerce in the UK, with a particular focus on the customer.
  • Demonstrable experience in at least one of the retail disciplines is highly valued: marketing, operations, merchandising and/or the ‘new media industry’. 
  • Exemplary writing style with impeccable grammar – clear, concise, succinct analysis and filtering of information to focus on the most useful insight and practical information and advice. 
  • Publishing experience and a desire to build a career in electronic publishing. Experience of subscription-based business information publishing, including newsletters, particularly welcome.
