Job Description

Overall job purpose

The Sales Manager is responsible for delivering profitable sales of BidBuddy and related technologies, products and services to agencies and direct clients in the UK.

Scope

  •  Reports to Sales Director

 Key interdependent relationships

  • Takes direction from Sales Director
  • Proactively supports Sales Director in achieving strategic and tactical goals for the company.
  • Keeps Sales Director informed of progress against sales targets/ objectives.
  • Works proactively with Client Services to make sure that the transition from new business into implementation is smooth, acceptance criteria are met and all hand over procedures are followed. 

Key responsibilities

  • Working in Partnership with the Sales Director for defining and achieving Sales Targets.
  • Direct ownership over the sales of BidBuddy and related technologies.
  • Responsible for attaining Sales Target.
  • Ownership and management of inbound sales enquiries.
  • Drives sales efficiency through effective deployment of targeted and proactive selling activities. 
  • Arrange commercial meetings with prospective clients, undertake demonstrations, and negotiate commercials. 
  • Work closely with the marketing team to draw on their resources to help with client prospecting/research. 
  • Drives profitable commercials to include additional value such as PR stories.
  • Accountable for updating to the company the Sales Pipeline on a weekly basis.
  • Accountable for the management of the BidBuddy Leads Database.

Key activities

 

Delivers Sales targets by:

  • Working with the Sales Director to build and drive an effective Sales Plan to acquire profitable clients who meet our essential criteria.
  • Owning, managing, delivering and communicating the sales pipeline with conversion metrics to allow us to forecast and resource accurately.
  • Continually finding better, faster, smarter cheaper ways of doing things (eg capturing and reusing learnings/materials from earlier pitches).
  • Developing positive and consultative relationships with potential clients.

 

Participates in delivering excellence in execution of team goals by:

  • Working on weekly goals and objectives
  • Selling to a targeted weekly list of people and updating the progress of each call and sale into the pipeline.
  • To update and manage the sales pipeline
  • Estimating % chance of closing. (to ensure operations are aware of this for resourcing)
  • Working with sales support to ensure all documents follow our marketing guidelines
  • Sharing key success / negative feedback from all pitches and sales. Whether they have been won or lost.
  • To be a team player and help both managed and customised channel.
  • Up- selling other services or products available from TTW or our sister company, The Search Works.
  • To be proactive and ask for additional training, to attend conferences etc
  • To be honest and realistic and ask for help when needed.
  • To complete and follow sales procedures in line with agreed sales process
  • Credit checks are to be requested with finance on very warm leads.
  • Contract forms and other required templates must be filled in correctly
  • Commercials must be agreed with Sales Director.
  • Contracts must be monitored and received
  • All handover notes must be detailed and complete before handover
  • To attend the first implementation meeting if necessary

  • Management, Power Point, Presentation and Public Speaking Training.
  • Regular reviews of own performance and building of self development plan.
Candidate Requirements

Essential skills, strengths and experience

  • To be commercially aware and understand profitability.
  • To see and identify potential in new clients
  • To understand the business needs and the effect resource has on profitability.
  • 2 years Sales Experience
  • Confidence in selling and pitching
  • PPC Market knowledge
  • 2 years experience online
  • To be presentable
  • Good presentation and power point skills
