Job Description

Design UK is a leading independent digital agency based just off Piccadilly Circus in the heart of London. For nearly 10 years we've delivered our clients commercial success online through innovative ideas, elegant ideas and customer-focused technology. Our user-centred, marketing-driven approach (which we've coined 'More Human than Digital') has proved extremely successful with retail, leisure and fashion organisations especially. We're currently working with clients including Blackwell Publishing, Butlins, Diesel, Hackett, Kurt Geiger, Odeon Cinemas and Selfridges. 

We are  experiencing a period of sustained growth and with a number of new high-profile clients coming on board there are excellent opportunities within our team. As a result of internal promotions we are therefore seeking a bright, ambitious, enthusiastic go-getter to continue our success by selling our unique proposition to digital prospects. 

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Director you will be responsible for the tactical development and implementation of Design UK’s new business strategy, and achieving set prospect, win and revenue targets. Your activities will include:

- Identification of client business opportunities

- Generating qualified leads

- First and ongoing contact with prospects, through cold calling, letters and email 

- Day-to-day liaison with external business development agency

- Implementation of tactical DM/email support programmes

- Presentation of Design UK credentials and initial client analyses

- Tactical support of Design UK’s marketing programme including exhibition and seminar organisation plus some PR liaison

- Working with multi-disciplinary pitch teams support and deliver client pitches and proposals as appropriate

Candidate Requirements

You will have a least 3 years experience in business development (ideally in a digital agency or other digital environment) and a proven track record in identifying and generating qualified leads, as well as creating and closing pitch/proposal opportunities. You will have excellent written, presentation and verbal communications skills, be confident on the telephone and entrepreneurial/lateral in your thinking. You will have a thorough understanding of the internet and other related digital technologies, so as to be able to identify, discuss and close potential opportunities with prospects incisively. Our sale is very consultative so blusterers need not apply! An understanding of marketing, or a marketing background would be a definite bonus as would the desire and capability to play a lead role in pitch development and management over time.
