95% of information architects are fakes

I used to have info about where I work on my profile but another IA decided to call me up and complain about a post where I criticised him and his website.

Are all 'real' IAs so touchy?

This discussion is not about validating my opinion or myself. I tend to assume that people who participate in this forum are experienced professionals and therefore I value their opinions. I don't ask them if they have written any papers or dismiss them if I have never heard of them.

I list IA as an expertise amongst other things. I'm not an IA but I can tackle simple IA models. Also, I have a B.Sc. in Architecture, but that's not as relevant as it sounds.

Perhaps you should validate yourself? Googling for "95% of information architects are fakes" returns this discussion as well as the same thing published as the only press release ever that does not feature any information about the company releasing it.

You’re entitled to an opinion, but how many websites have you designed the user experience on and are any of them any good?

I realize that you will say they are, but who are you to comment on the relationship between Information Architecture, User Experience, and Usability etc. What academic or professional papers have you written for the UPA, ACM or anyone?

I’ve never heard of you.

At least Christina was involved in setting up the IAI and the others seem to hold some repute, but you don’t seem exist anywhere else but here.

Your profile says you’re an Information Architect, if your not one you should stop advertising a fake profile.
