GOOGLE VERSUS OVERTURE

Hi i have just set up a website that is a local area guide for TORBAY AND SOUTH DEVON, and have been looking into the PAY PER CLICK campaigns, but i find there is a vast difference in cost between Google and Overture. We are trying to build a brand in the South West of England and the website is : www.accala.com

but... because of the unusual name, it is really important that we pay per click in order to come at the top of the listings for the popular searched words, such as 'Torquay' or 'hotels in Torbay' etc.

Seeing as Overture incorporates Yahoo! MSN, Wanadoo, AOL, Tiscali etc. (so you get listing on all these), for literally half the price as just Google and yet you get double the hits.... it seems completely bizarre to me, and i am seriously considering not using google at all.

can anyone shed any light on this phenomenon? is it worth paying the google prices?

As Alex says the return for the spend is what matters most. We had a client that prior to implementing tracking was very reluctant to spend more than 15p a click because he had ...
