Forbidden GMail email addresses

So there was I last night wondering how best to exploit all the gmail email accounts I have access to and trying to think up the best names in town that were relevant to my factsaboutadsense.com and adwordsmanagement.com websites.

How about adsense@gmail.com or adwords@gmail.com.  Not allowed - probably taken.

Okay, factsaboutadsense@gmail.com.  Not allowed either.  Curious.

I tried rt54y8adsenseudf@gmail.com. Also not available.

In fact anything that was of the form *adsense*@gmail is not allowed so Google is obviously feeling protective right now.

But I can't help feeling I'm missing out on an opportunity here.  There's talk of these gmail addresses becoming a new domain name scramble and just this second I can't think of one to go for although I have access to quite a few more and they are free.

Trademark email addresses like cocacola@gmail.com will almost certainly be reclaimed so the trick must be to go for a name that is associated with a generic ecommerce business sector.  Having said that, is thebbc@gmail.com likely to fall foul of trademark law?

And have all the good names gone already? No way.

Will they actually have any tradeable value?  Well they are selling on ebay I'm told and so on and Google is taking action to stop this practice apparently - although I haven't researched this much - sorry, that should read "at all": this is a blog, not a research thesis.

So the tradeable value must depend in part on how closely Google polices the system to stop account transfers and then there's the small matter of supply and demand and the perceived value of generic names.

Who owns an email addess anyway?  I haven't read the small print carefully - who does? - but I daresay that Google Inc regards all email addresses @gmail.com as its own IP to a degree.
