Displaying sales in real-time

Martin, a simple and cheap solution is to use Excel's ability to pull data from database and chart it - this would do exactly what you want with expected delay of 2-3 seconds (likely to be less). You can then project this screen to whereever you want it to be.

Proper "real time" solution can update charts a lot more often than that, but unless you are dealing with extremely time sensitive data like exchange rates, share prices OR getting more than 12-18k orders a day (one order every 2-3 sec assuming 10 active hours) than you may find that paying a lot more for specialised fast reporting tool may not bring you many benefits because its the humans interpreting it who are likely to be the bottleneck anyway.

Hope it helps,

regards,

Alex
